Creative Work Presentation

For this assignment look back through all of the work you have produced in this part of the course, especially the final outcomes of each of the seven exercises. Now make a Powerpoint, Keynote or other slideshow presentation that selects and presents what you think is an interesting and varied collection of work.

Making this video was both more and less stressful than I thought it would be. Setting up the presentation itself was easy enough with the right tool (Canva) and with a bit of prior planning and figuring out what the main points I wanted to focus on were, beyond the works themselves. I structured the presentation firstly in terms of the 7 exercises, but also in terms of the three overall goals (experimentation with different mediums, learning idea generation techniques and stepping outside of my comfort zone).

The difficult part was the actual presenting. I’m afraid by the time I got a take that was within the time frame and mostly coherent, my speech was starting to flag. Next time, I might try using a different program and doing the presentation in different takes instead of powering through only once and then rejecting the entire recording if I make a mistake. This means that I will also need to edit, but it might be worth it if the result is also more professional-looking.

As an overall conclusion, this course has been a great challenge, and I believe there are many new things I will be applying to future projects because of it. The points I will work on most for the next course are: time management, applying the idea generation tools, and combining mediums for more interesting results.
